About Epoxy Resin
What Is Epoxy Resin?
Epoxy resin is a two-part liquid polymer — a resin and a hardener — that, when combined, undergoes a chemical reaction and cures into a hard, glass-like finish. At Trayz N' Beyond, we use premium, high-gloss epoxy resin to craft each piece by hand, resulting in a durable, stunning surface that's as functional as it is beautiful.
Our Process
Every Trayz N' Beyond piece is made to order. Here's a look at what goes into each creation:
- Mixing: We carefully measure and combine resin and hardener at precise ratios to ensure a flawless cure.
- Pigmenting: We blend premium mica powders and fine glitters to achieve rich, dimensional color — no two pieces are exactly alike.
- Pouring: The pigmented resin is poured into molds or onto surfaces with intention, creating the signature look of each design.
- Curing: Pieces cure on a heat mat to accelerate the process, then rest for a full cure cycle before finishing.
- Finishing: Each piece is lightly sanded and polished to a high-gloss finish before it's ready for you.
Care Instructions
- Wipe clean with a soft, damp cloth — avoid abrasive scrubbers.
- Keep away from prolonged direct sunlight to preserve color vibrancy.
- Avoid extreme heat (e.g., placing hot pans directly on the surface).
- Not dishwasher safe — hand wash only for pieces that contact food or drink.
Why Handmade Matters
Because every piece is poured by hand, natural variations in color flow, shimmer, and pattern are part of the beauty. No two pieces are identical — that's not a flaw, it's the signature of true craftsmanship.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is epoxy resin food safe?
Our cured epoxy resin pieces are generally safe for incidental contact with food and drink, but we recommend hand-washing only and avoiding prolonged direct food contact on decorative surfaces. When in doubt, use a coaster or liner.
How long does epoxy resin take to cure?
Full cure typically takes 24–72 hours depending on the piece and environment. We use a heat mat to accelerate the process, and every piece rests through a complete cure cycle before it's finished and shipped.
Will my piece look exactly like the photos?
Because every piece is handmade and poured individually, there will be natural variations in color flow, shimmer placement, and pattern. This is part of what makes each piece unique — not a defect.
Can I request a custom color?
Yes! We offer custom color options on select pieces. Reach out to us before placing your order and we'll do our best to accommodate your vision.
Is epoxy resin durable?
Yes — properly cured epoxy resin is highly durable, scratch-resistant, and water-resistant. With proper care, your Trayz N' Beyond piece will maintain its high-gloss finish for years.
