Resin Coaster Buying Guide
Resin Coaster Buying Guide
Handmade epoxy resin coasters are more than just surface protection — they're a design statement. But not all resin coasters are created equal. Here's what to look for when choosing the right set for your home.
Size Matters
Our coasters are 3.5" round — the ideal size for standard mugs, glasses, and wine glasses. This size is large enough to catch drips without overwhelming a coffee table or side table surface.
Individual vs. Set
We offer coasters in sets of 1 to 4, with a matching 4" round coaster holder to keep them organized and display-ready. Here's a quick weight reference to help you plan:
- 1 coaster: 1.7 oz
- 2 coasters: 3.5 oz
- 3 coasters: 5.5 oz
- 4 coasters: 7.1 oz
For most households, a set of 4 with a holder is the most practical and visually complete option.
What to Look for in Quality Resin Coasters
- Full cure — Coasters should be fully cured (72+ hours) before use. Undercured resin can be tacky and may not hold up to heat or moisture.
- UV-resistant formula — Prevents yellowing over time, especially important for light-colored or clear coasters.
- Smooth, sealed surface — A properly finished coaster should have no rough edges, bubbles, or sticky spots.
- Non-slip backing — Look for coasters with felt or cork backing to protect your furniture surfaces.
Matching Your Décor
Our coasters are made to order in custom color combinations using mica pigments and glitters. Whether you want something that blends into a neutral palette or makes a bold statement, we can craft a set that fits your space.
Pairing with a Flight Tray
For a fully cohesive look, pair your coaster set with a matching flight tray. Our Tier 2 set ($68.99) includes the tray, holder, and 4 coasters — all made in the same color palette for a unified aesthetic.
