Our Story

Trayz n' Beyond was born in a kitchen in Knoxville, Tennessee in mid-2020 — and like most things worth having, it started with a vision and a whole lot of patience.

My name is Erick Owens. I’m the maker, the designer, and the founder behind every piece that leaves this studio. Long before resin ever touched my hands, I was studying the art of visual communication — earning a certificate in Graphic Design and Printing in Fairless Hills, Pennsylvania in 1998. That foundation never left me. It lives in every color choice, every composition, every piece I create.

From Kitchen Table to Studio

In 2020, like so many people, I found myself with time, space, and a need to create something meaningful. I discovered epoxy resin — a medium that rewards patience, precision, and an eye for design — and I was immediately captivated. What started as experimentation on a kitchen table became something I couldn’t stop. The pours, the pigments, the way gold leaf catches the light — it all spoke to something deep in me.

Trayz n' Beyond was born from that moment. A brand built on the belief that your home deserves more than mass-produced accessories — it deserves something made with intention, crafted by hand, and designed to last.

The Craft Behind Every Piece

Every tray, coaster, and bar accessory we make is handcrafted to order in our Knoxville studio using premium epoxy resin. No two pieces are exactly alike. The resin is mixed, poured, and cured by hand — a process that takes time, focus, and deep attention to detail.

That attention to detail isn’t accidental. I live with ADHD — a condition that brings real challenges, but also the gift of hyperfocus. When I’m in the studio, I am fully in the studio. Every bubble, every pigment shift, every line is noticed and addressed. That’s not a business strategy — that’s just how my brain works. And it’s baked into every piece I make.
